STAFF REPORT LHR: The Punjab government has decided to computerise all record of the Punjab police through an Inventory Management System being launched by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) Lahore.

“The pilot project worth Rs 16 million would be kicked off in Lahore.

The main server for monitoring will be established in Central Police Office Lahore or at PITB headquarters,” said PITB Chairman Dr Umar Saif during a meeting recently held here in Lahore.

Dr. Saif said that the record procurement of all vehicles, petrol, arms, food, uniforms, and other equipment is going to be computerised now, which will help a lot in curbing their illegal and embezzlements as well.

“With the completion of this project hopefully by the end of this year, the entire record of Punjab police will be accessible easily anytime resulting in the effective monitoring and better performance of the Punjab police,” he said.
