STAFF REPORT FSD: More than 60 per cent of Pakistans population comprises youth and the dream of becoming a developed nation can be fulfilled only by refurbishing their professional and innovative skills.

This was expressed by speakers at a recently organized international seminar titled “Dice Invent” by the University of Agriculture Faisalabad and Institute of Business Administration Karachi in the city.

Addressing the participants, UAF Acting Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Arshad said that the country is blessed with the tremendous talent and it is imperative to ensure quality education to the youth so that their innovative skills can be enhanced. He urged the students to utilise maximum time in character-building and profession knowledge acquiring activities.

Speaking on the occasion, German scientist Manfred Akstiuat said that Pakistan is having the talented youth and by giving them proper guideline, development could be ensured. He said that the education is the key to prosperity of any country.

ORIC Director Dr Rao Asif stressed the need for becoming the self employed with entrepreneurial skills.

Dr Shahid Massod from IBA Karachi said that in Sindh, under the IBA Karachi, six-month business courses are helping 1,200 students to kick off their agri business. He said that self employment would also reduce the poverty.
