STAFF REPORT ISB: PTCL has recently organized Eco-Hike and Tree Plantation Drive in the Margalla Hills to raise awareness about preservation and protection of environment.


The initiative, which was part of the PTCLs Go Green vision, emphasized the importance of keeping the surroundings clean and raised awareness in the community about environmental issues.


Over 230 hikers including PTCL employees and students participated in the hike, started at the base of Margalla Hills on Trail 3 and 5 and culminated at the picturesque Pir Sohawa.


The participants also collected litter along the trails, with an aim to raise awareness among the general public about the need to keep the environment clean. Students and faculty members from various universities participated in the drive.


A tree plantation drive in collaboration with CDA was also launched at the occasion.


Syed Mazhar Hussain, CHRO PTCL, who also planted a sapling on the occasion, enunciated the value that PTCL attaches to various socially responsible activities that it undertakes under the aegis of its CSR policy.


He vowed to keep the momentum of such activities in future also, so that PTCL continues to play its part in the social and economic uplift of the country.


At the closing ceremony, an environment awareness session was also held, where renowned environmentalist Dr. Muhammad Hanif elaborated the need for preservation and protection of environment.
