STAFF REPORT ISB: To modernize the national agricultural research system of Pakistan, investment in research and development activities of agriculture sector and education is pre-requisite for enhancing productivity and to produce skilled manpower to bring food security on sustainable basis in the country.


In the light of natural disasters and rapid loss of good agricultural land, a national soil policy for conservation and rational use of land resources is essential, Dr. Nadeem, Member (NR) and Acting Chairman PARC expressed these views during the recently held 15th International Soil Science Congress at the NARC, Islamabad.


The theme of the current congress is “Soil Management in Changing Climate”.


About 276-research paper on Soil Fertility, the scientists in the congress will present Soil Salinity, Soil Environment and Soil Microbiology.


Other speakers included Prof. Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Swati, VC University of Agriculture Peshawar.
