SIDRA SAIF ISB:Minister of State for IT Anusha Rahman along with Pakistani delegation visited Ericssons pavilion during their recent official visit to Barcelona to attend the Mobile World Congress.


The event is characterized by participation of global leaders in technology, policy makers and IT experts attended by over 100,000 delegates from across the world, says a message received here.


The delegation was briefed by the Ericsson team on the latest network equipment and technologies for 3G/4G/LTE/5G and state-of-the-art equipment for rural areas and environment protection.


The minister showed special interest in 5G technology, low power BTS embedded in street lights, and data accelerators for broadband wireless access technologies, which can be uniformly deployed in Pakistan during the rollout of 3G/4G/LTE networks.


The delegation also met with the senior representatives of Ericsson. The Minister highlighted the potential of manufacturing and assembling of telecommunication equipment in Pakistan particularly in the wake of upcoming spectrum auction. She was of the view that enormous opportunity lies for companies like Ericsson to come to Pakistan and add up to the ecosystem for next generation services in the country.


The Ericsson team consented to visit Pakistan soon to explore the possibilities of enriching their presence in manufacturing and assembling in Pakistan.
