STAFF REPORT IBD: The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has recently organized the 8th International Conference on Digital Information Management (ICDIM), which was attended by a large number of delegates from across the globe and young scientists from every corner of the country.


The event was organized in collaboration with IEEE Technical Management Society USA, Digital Information Research Foundation UK and the local Organizing Committee ICDIM.


The inaugural session was also attended by Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, Executive Director HEC, VC AIOU, and Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi.


The delegates also presented their research work in the field of Digital Information Management at this three days conference.


On the occasion, Minister of State for Privatization and Commerce and Textile Engineer Khurram Dastagir Khan apprised the participants that the government is very well aware of the importance of SandT role in bringing transparency in governance and economic development.


This conference was highly technical in nature and sessions were comprised various lectures, workshops including recognition technologies used in our everyday life like searching Google, Facebook, tweeting or using smartphones; robotics and its use in various industries in Pakistan.


The principal aim of this conference was to bring people in academia, research laboratories and industry together, and offer a collaborative platform to address the emerging issues and solutions in digital information science and technology, Dr. Mukhtar said.
