STAFF REPORT IBD: The Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) urged scientists to disseminate new innovations among farming community for the promotion of agriculture and to enhance food production for food security in the country.


“Funds will be provided for the betterment of agriculture sector. The government is focusing on agricultural growth. Technology and new initiatives should reach the farmers doorsteps,” said NA Committee on National Food Security and Research (NFSandR) Chairman Shakir Bashir during a briefing at the PARC HQs.


PARC Chairman Dr Iftikhar Ahmad and his team briefed the meeting about PARC functions and its new initiatives for the promotion of agriculture sector in the country.


Shakir Awan assured the PARC management that it would do all to support this apex research body for the development of agriculture sector in the country. He said that Pakistan having huge potential in agriculture field which needed to be exploited for the progress of the country.


Appreciating the PARC initiatives, he said his committee would take every possible step to help promote the Council and consequently agriculture research culture.


On this occasion, Ahmad said that country having huge agriculture resources.
